EXIT on TAYLOR
277 Taylor Street, San Francisco

Located on the West side of Taylor between Eddy & Ellis, 2 blocks from
the Powell St. BART Station, this 66 seat, black box space is around the
corner from the Eddy Steet. theatreplex. The house is street level and wheel-chair
accessible.
The Space
With curtains in full use, playing space is approximately 17 feet wide by
12 feet deep with ample wing space Stage Left and moderate wing space Stage
Right. The curtains can be opened to make the performance space larger and
thw wing space smaller. The bare back wall is black. Be aware theat the
main door from the lobby Stage Right into the space allows for entrances
directly onto the stage (and thus, extra "wing space"). The first
row of the audience is at stage level and will partially define the DS playing
edge.
Entrances directly to stage can be made Stage Left, Up Stage Right by way of the back hall, or through the main lobby doors.
The grid is about 14 feet above the stage. There is no fly-space. While the floor is wood, the wall are sheet rock so attachments are limited. You may not hang items or compromise the stage in any way without prior approval.
Dressing Room and Storage
Dressing Room Holds 5-6 comfortably and is located off the north east corner.
This room is at the end of a common hallway, past the washrooms, and near
the USL stage entrance. The room has room for a small prop table, ample
mirror and counter space and includes its own shower stall and sink. Performers
will share general washroom facilities with patrons. There is no monitor
system, but stage noise will be heard in the dressing room.
Tech Capacities
Located on the northwest corner of the theatre, the booth provides an adequate
view of the entire playing space. With a simple audio monitor (for stage
noise) in the booth, it is well sound proofed. Windows can not be opened
for ventilation, but a fan is provided. Access is through a second door
from the street - making it wheel chair accessible, though a few steps up
from house level.
Sound: (1) dual-deck tape deck, (2) single disc CD players, an 12 channel
Behringer mixing board allowing for cross fades, live mic hook-up or instrument
amplification. There are 2 speakers dead-hung from the lighting grid in
the corners of the east wall of the stage that allow isolation up (right)
and down (left) through the mixer.
Lights: The board is a Leprecon 12 channel MANUAL 2 scene preset. Cues
may be cross-faded manually or run as internals. There is an independent
channel, add/bump buttons and a chaser. The house lights are on a separate
dimmer next to the board.
