Conspicuous by its absence – ran through my head after seeing My Uncle Sam, My Military Family and Me.
I had so many questions that Herbert left unanswered. Turns out he had done a longer version and felt people weren’t following along/didn’t understand.
I wanted to hear more about this way of life. Though maybe the stiff upper life of soldiers creates loyalty to silence and to tell even this much was a breakthrough.

My Uncle Sam gave me an insight into what military life was like for those not actually in the military. I have met some military brats in my life but they all seem to glamourize that life. It obviously was not always the case and Herb shed much light on the subject with humor and insightfulness.

Being a former serviceman I really enjoyed this show.I wasn’t aware of the situation of being a dependent in a military family. I found the subject matter presented both interesting and educational

Admired Herbert’s brave awareness sharing his personal reflection of the struggles growing up in a military family. Left wanting to hear more of how life evolved for him, his family and the other military families.
